Studying the effect of family cohesion on the mental peace of married women (A case study of married female teachers in education in district 5 of Tehran)

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to identify the effect of the family cohesion components on the mental peace of married women, therefore, the method used in this research is a descriptive-explanatory survey type. The statistical population of this research includes 300 married female teachers of education in District 5 of Tehran from three levels of education (primary, middle and high school). In this research, according to the size of the statistical population, 168 samples were selected by simple random method. The tool for collecting information in this research is a researcher-made questionnaire. The opinion of experts such as Elson, Louise, Spanier, Durkheim, Parsons and Murat Yalsen is the basis and theoretical framework of this research.
The findings of the research show that the couple compatibility variable as one of the six components of family cohesion alone could explain 21% of the variance of the dependent variable of this research. The results also showed that couple compatibility, family cohesion, spending time with family, gender division of labor and emotional commitment are among the most important factors in improving the mental peace of married women in the statistical sample of the research and had a moderate correlation with the dependent variable.
