Abstract

In recent years, artificial intelligence has become increasingly embedded in the social life of Generation Z. Methodologically, this study employed a survey design; temporally, it was cross-sectional; in terms of purpose, it was applied; and in terms of scope, it followed a large-scale survey approach. The statistical population consisted of 451,038 members of Generation Z residing in Isfahan in the Iranian calendar year 1404, from whom a sample of 340 respondents was selected using proportionate quota sampling. Data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire. Its content validity was assessed at an acceptable level, and its reliability was evaluated using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The findings showed that the mean scores for social rules and norms (28.64) and membership in social associations (32.80) were above the theoretical mean, indicating that respondents reported relatively high levels of adherence to cultural norms and participation in social groups. The mean score of the artificial intelligence variable (93.76) suggests that respondents’ engagement with this technology is more appropriately interpreted in terms of general and everyday uses than specialized and purposeful applications. The results of structural equation modeling indicated that artificial intelligence explained 31% and 19% of the variance in social rules and norms and membership in social associations, respectively.
