Abstract

social capital improves the active participation of citizens by strengthening the social trust and communication networks . hope for the future as psychological stimulus will increase motivation and positive orientation of individuals in social life . the purpose of this study was to investigate the role of social capital in the hope of future students of mazandaran university . quantitative research method was survey method and its instrument was questionnaire . the statistical population of the study consisted of students of mazandaran university and according to cochran formula , 397 students were selected according to stratified sampling method . the results of this research show that social capital variables explain about 17 percent of variance of hope to the future . the variable of social participation has the most effect on hope for the future and after that the variable of social trust and empathy and belonging and life style are different . in order to increase hope to the future , paying attention to the variables of social capital has a determinant role and by strengthening these variables , we can increase hope to the future
